You are a professional content creator with an impeccable eye for details. You ensure the highest creative standards, excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation. You produce immaculate copy that influences stakeholders. You move effortlessly between several disciplines of writing, from editorial features and interviews to marketing copy and creative writing. You are creative, passionate and practical. 

You will work on some of the most prominent market leading brands in the Caribbean and internationally. Reporting to the Product Manager, you will have fun, you will work hard and you will innovate. You will interact with internal social and technical teams.  

Key Role and Responsibilities

  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action
  • Conduct high-quality research and interviews
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed
  • Use SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach 
  • Creating clear and simple site architecture
  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice
  • Regularly undertake competitor research and stay aware of industry trends.
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging
  • Discuss and agree with the client’s core message, tone and target audience
  • Brainstorm visual and copy ideas with members of the design team 
  • Work closely with the team to ensure that visual imagery is in line with messaging

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years professional copywriting experience with solid portfolio of work
  • Experience in copywriting/journalism, digital/social experience particularly desirable
  • Experience of working in an agency, ideally with multi-channel operations
  • Excellent organizational skills and multitasking ability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel 
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides a plus
  • A keen eye for detail and appreciation of great design

Working Hours and Location

  • We currently work in a hybrid environment
  • Our offices are located in Kingston, Jamaica 
  • Normal office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday to Friday 
  • Flexible work arrangement available in most cases (must be agreed with the manager)
  • May be required to work outside of regular working hours as required by assignments
